Oral History Documentation session in Kasos

COMM’ON collaborated with the Municipality of Kasos in order to organize a community meeting (oral history documentation session) to discuss the art of drystone craftsmanship on the island, as well as the traditional practice of Argadia (collective labor).

The session took place in May 2025 at the Municipal Library in Fry, following an open invitation to the local community. 

As part of the event, the documentary “Collective Labor” by Petra Tilos team was screened, highlighting a tradition analogous to Argadiá that is practiced on the island of Tilos.

A total of 24 individuals attended the gathering and contributed their testimonies, enriching the documentation with personal narratives and lived experiences.

The project “The Past and Future of the art of drystone in Kasos” was implemented by the Municipality of the Heroic Island of Kasos, with the support of COMM’ON organization and in collaboration with the Kasos Walkers.

The project was co-funded by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture.
