COMM'ON develops documentaries and podcasts as tools for research, documentation and community engagement. Through audiovisual storytelling, we explore the relationships between people, places, memory and cultural heritage, creating spaces where personal experiences connect with broader social histories.
Our productions emerge from long-term collaborations with communities, public institutions, researchers and cultural practitioners. Combining oral history, participatory research and creative documentation, they contribute to the recording, safeguarding and sharing of stories that matter.

RITUALS: communities and practices
focuses on the documentation and promotion of cultural practices across the Aegean islands, with particular emphasis on rituals linked to the cycles of nature and human life. Through storytelling and audiovisual material, it explores how local communities interpret and sustain these traditions within their contemporary social context.
The project serves as a dynamic archive of living cultural memory, emerging from a collective research process that includes the active participation of local communities. It contributes to the understanding, recording and documentation of the Aegean's cultural heritage as it is experienced and carried forward by the people themselves.
The documentation is carried out in collaboration with public and private institutions as well as charitable foundations.

Labor Park: The story behind Lipasmata Park in Drapetsona
What was life like in Drapetsona when the city lived under the shadow of the Lipasmata factory, and what price did its residents have to pay? How did a factory that shaped the destiny of an entire city eventually become a park-symbol of social struggles for the right to public space?
Labor Park is a six-episode audio documentary series that sheds light on the history of Lipasmata - a story of struggles, defeats and victories unfolding against the backdrop of Drapetsona. Join Elli Xypolitaki on a journey through time, where the history of the factory intersects with the lives of the people it shaped.
Labor Park is a production of Spoovio, in collaboration with Lipasmata Park, the Keratsini-Drapetsona KDBM Municipal Company, COMM'ON and the Municipality of Keratsini-Drapetsona.
The series was produced with funding from the Hellenic Ministry of Culture.

/ PETRA TILOS
RESEARCH FOR DRYSTONE BUILDING
COMM'ON collaborated with members of the local community in Tilos to develop the Petra Tilos project. Together we formed the Petra Tilos team and developed a series of activities, events and processes in order to engage the local community around the thematic of drystone building and sustainable environmental and cultural local development.
During our stay in Tilos in the winter of 2023 we supported the research and record process of oral history interviews around the theme of drystone building. Along with cinematographer Nefeli Papaioannou and archeologist Anestis Vasilakeris we recorded oral history narrations from 3 generations of Tilos residents that work or have worked with stone techniques.
