COMM'ON supported ACT team in the co-designing and co-implementing of a series of meetings and workshops for the 4th round of the Actors of Urban Change Program in 2020-21.
Actors of Urban Change is a community-driven, international good-practice network that since 2013 promotes sustainable urban development in Europe, and believes in creating a culture of co-creation as a driving force for positive change. To do this, ACT program fosters collaborations between actors from the non-profit, public and private sectors of Europe and beyond.
The Act program is developed by MitOst e.V. with the support of Robert Bosch Stiftung.
During the 4 rounds of the program 40 cross-sectoral teams have participated, 5 of them were based in Greece. Greece is the most represented EU country in Actors of Urban Change program.
COMM'ON supported ACT team for:
_ACT Kick Off Meeting (Feb. 2020 - Berlin)
30 participants met for the first time in Berlin for the Kick Off Meeting of the program. Each team through a series of presentations and workshops met each other, introduced their work, their backgrounds, their projects, the challenges that they face in their cities and their on field knowledge. The goal of the meeting was -for each team- to work on its' coordination and planning for their (local) project.
_ACT Online 2nd Meeting (May 2020 - online)
The second meeting of the program, due to the pandemic restrictions, took place online. The 10 participating teams shared the challenges they had to face due to the new situation and the changes they had to make in their local projects. The goal of the meeting was -for each team- to work on the engagement of their (local) communities and the development of (local) resilience.
_ACT Local Meeting (July 2020 - Kaisariani, Athens)
The Greek teams of the 4th round of the program, met in Athens, after an invitation of the Municipality of Kaisiariani (also participant of the ACT) in order to share experiences and knowledge on how to overcome local challenges due to the pandemic. The goal of the meeting was to coordinate local participants on how they can work together and support each other during the developement of their ACT projects and beyond.
_ACT Local Retreat (October 2020 - Santorini)
From October until December 2020, the 10 participating teams met in 3 different locations in Europe in order to reconnect and work on their (local) challenges and their (local) projects. In Greece the 3 local teams met in Santorini.
