COMM’ON collaborated with the Municipality of Kasos in order to organize a participatory workshop on the art of drystone for the pupils of Kasos’ Primary School.

COMM’ON designed and implemented two workshops on the thematic of drystone building but also around the tradition of “Argadia” (collective work practice between the community).
The kids were introduced to (simple) drystone techniques, how they are built, which stones are used and how, what their practical functions are, and what their environmental and cultural significance is. We used a puzzle with wooden “rocks” but also a lot of playful quiz.
They also learned about different practices of collective work around the Dodecanese, that is similar to the tradition of “Argadia” in Kasos.

Two one-hour workshops were held on May 2025. One at the primary school in in Agia Marina and one in Fry.
A big thank you to the school’s principal Mrs Eleni Konstantinidi and to the teachers association for supporting us during the workshop.
