/ CIVIL SOCIETY TOOLBOX
Civil Society Toolbox: A Do It Yourself toolkit for capacity building, collective action and organizational development.
Toolbox aims to support civil society actors, initiatives and civil society organizations who are facilitating organizational development in initiatives, civil society organizations or informal groups who want to develop their working structures to act, collaborate and create impact in times of complexity and uncertainty.
The Toolbox focuses on 13 selected themes, which deal with some of the most frequent challenges of civil society organizations. In order to prioritize which theme(s) to work on, your team can use the toolbox to find your specific capacity building need.
The Civil Society Toolbox is available to order (hard copy) or download in English, Greek, French, Russian and Turkish. It will soon be available in: Arabic, Ukrainian and Bulgarian.
SUPPORTING THE TOOLBOX COMMUNITY
We are an international self-organized partnership and hosts of a community of practitioners who continuously improves and further develops the methods & tools of the Toolbox on a voluntary basis. In parallel, our team organize workshops and trainings in order to engage and support others to use the Toolbox.
The Civil Society Toolbox is a DIY toolkit that can be used by any team without the support of an external facilitator. In the case where a team needs external support, our team offers facilitating servises uppon request.
how can a team work
with the toolbox
There are different ways to work with this Toolbox.
Use what you need!
You can implement a tailor-made workshop to address and solve your capacity building need. These workshops are called “Paths”. Each Path outlines a recommended sequence of activities, discussions, and exercises to guide you through a fruitful development process, all of which can be adjusted to your team’s specific needs. Most Paths assume that you will invest a day to work on a theme. You can also create your own Path from the Toolbox Library or try out individual methods one at a time.
